BTW, it would be trivial to patch tahoma.ttf to get the right behaviour for both Windows and FreeType -- you just have to change three bytes within the font...
Can we have this patch then? :)
Distributing a patched Tahoma font file would be illegal of course, but I don't see any problems with such a patch.
