most applications that use FreeType just put a small notice in the "Help -> About" dialog, or in the "Credits" section. to me, that is clearly part of the documentation for the product and complies with the license. some other put a note in a splash screem, that's OK too. some other distribute a README.TXT file that comes with the program that includes also a mention. still OK.
I don't see why your users couldn't do the same thing. if you really think that would be an incredible burden to them, dont use FreeType, that's all. the least you could do is simply have them redistribute a README.TXT file with the DLL. I assume you want also your own copyright/license disclaimer in this file anyway. - David 2008/4/20 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hello, > > i want use FreeType2 for a commercial 3D engine i worked on the last > years, the users must eventually redistribute a DLL which contains a > compilation of the engine and the FreeType2 library. > > Now each user becomes a licensee of FreeType2 and must properly credit the > use of the software.
