if DLL_EXPORT is not set, then FT_EXPORT is defined as
__attribute__(( visibility( "default" ) )), hence the warning

for a static lib, FT_EXPORT should be set to nothing. @Anuj Verma add
-DFT_EXPORT to CPPFLAGS at configure time
