Does xine work in framebuffer modes for non-Matrox cards? (I haven't kept up with xine these days). What's the issue with tvtime? About a month ago I had some private discussions with Rob and Billy (tvtime), and we came to the conclusion that it would work well only with hardware acceleration (hence Xv). I tried a SDL-output version of tvtime but it can't cope well even on a 1GHz Duron. Other than that, freevo 1.3.2's support for tvtime doesn't map channels for non-US locales properly to the tvtime channel numbering (e.g. western-europe E5 used by xawtv to tvtime's channel numbers), but it's a different issue.
