I've had the exact same experience with mpav, i.e. song skipping.  My
question is; What version of pmlayer do you (Gustavo) have? Are there any
other dependencies you might think of?

could you try to debug why it crash after 10 secs?

I can't figure out why this happens. Playing the same file with freevo
and launching mpav from cmdline works? (you'll need to edit
local_conf.py to use -af export=/tmp/mpav)
