Yes, there is a subtitles attribute in kaa.metadata and it should
be. I want to know as much as possible about a movie in kaa.metadata
and external subtitle files belong to that.

No, you missunderstand. It is not bad if you do kaa.db improvements if
you want to do some speedup. If you don't break the interface, later
is also ok for me. If you don't know what to do, you could improve
kaa.player, update the mplayer patch or answer to my mail about the
xml files weeks ago.
