Kaa.record will do the recording stuff. Timeshift should be done by
writing small chunk files. I guess the best way would be to create an
input filter for libxine (and use it with kaa.xine) or for gstreamer
than can handle this.

I think it is done but buggy. As for kaa.record, we (Soenke and I)
have the idea to drop our current filter code and replace it with
gstreamer. This means we create our own source for gstreamer and let
gstreaner do the rest.

The main part would be the creation of kaa.player. Make a nice
interface, add gstreamer support. For doc, start with kaa.notifier
because it is impossible to understand anything without
kaa.notifier. We need much better doc there.
