If your bios supports this methode, you do not need nvram-wakeup for this to work. The wakeup time is set simply by "echo 2004-08-02 20:15:00 >/proc/acpi/alarm" This methode seems easier to set up. I am using it for over a year now without any problems. That is why I wanted to add it to the new autoshutdown plugin as an alternative to nvram.
