A quick google and ethopool only appears on one site: Sites with only a few free fonts at http://cg.scs.carleton.ca/~luc/original2fonts.html Matt Spire (b. 1984) is the Washington, DC or Leesburg, VA-based designer of the erasure fonts Ethopool, Hekran, arachnid, optimistic, shihel, Shifteds (2002). So I would say that Ethopool is a free font.
