With the kaa packages, you will need the latest, or at least a recent,
svn revision as some bugs have been fixed but not yet packaged as a
release. Maybe it's time for a kaa release ;-)

The other thing that you sometimes need to do is to delete the build
directories from svn versions as files occasionally move around and then
there are two files of the same name. Also the site-packages needs to be
cleaned up it's safe to delete the freevo and kaa directories, (unless
there are modifications that you have made to the sources in the
site-packages) and then reinstall. I would recommend this between
upgrades especially when there are problems detected.

Freevo-1.7.3 seems to be a very stable release with very few bugs
reported. Excepting some CDROM drive problems and the loss of the
weather feed.

What are you outstanding problems? Has the videothumbs problem been solved?

As for the web interface, have you tried copying the 1.7.0 library.rpy
over the new one?
