Thanks, but it is done using cairo (== using software). It monitors
the source for changes, so it could be possible to even reflect a
running video .... IF the video texture is small!

About that, I found a nice tutorial about clutter

Inside it is a small example to to create an actor based on basic
GL. Maybe the clutter-gst is not the best way. IIRC there is a way to
map a window content on a GL surface (not sure, but I remember reading
about it). A clutter actor implements its paint function directly with
GL. Maybe this could be a fast way of creating a XCompositeActor.
