Aha, I know what the problem is...

It is something that John mentioned and just now on the users list. It 
seems that there is now a problem with kaa base and freevo, I haven't 
updated mine for ages and have been testing with revision 3272.

Try update kaa with the following command:
svn -r 3272 update.

Not sure exactly which version of kaa is broken.
