I did that and installed only kaa-base locally. The same error is thrown.

The mixed egg/non-egg warning points to /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/kaa.
Since I installed kaa-base locally
(PYTHONPATH=/home/freevodev/lib/python2.6/site-packages), I temporarily
renamed the kaa directory in /usr/lib/... The errors have disappeared (also
Freevo doesn't exit anymore). It seems that there is something going on with
egg/non-egg modules in both local and global site-packages.
