hi,

we some time ago had a strange problem, that maybe it is not exactly
your problem, but you may want to look into
 http://bugs.debian.org/575293
in particular , message 10 and message 25  .

In short,
  import kaa
involves a
  signal.signal(signal.SIGCHLD, self._sigchld_handler)
so that from there on, any python call that involves a sub process will
also initialize the main kaa loop ; and there are a lot of such calls.
