It seems, that I've downloaded the old rsync-freevo which downloads the 1.3.4.ebuild. But I don't really thing that's the problem. I've just emerged the 1.4rc1.ebuild but still having a non-starting freevo but this time I don't even get any error message....
The output looks as follows: config.py (280): Loading configure settings: /etc/freevo/freevo.conf config.py (285): Cfg file data: "cdparanoia = /usr/bin/cdparanoia" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "chanlist = us-cable" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "display = x11" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "flac = /usr/bin/flac" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "geometry = 800x600" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "jpegtran = /usr/bin/jpegtran" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "lame = /usr/bin/lame" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "mplayer = /usr/bin/mplayer" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "oggenc = /usr/bin/oggenc" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "renice = /usr/bin/renice" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "setterm = /usr/bin/setterm" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "tv = pal" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "tvtime = /usr/bin/tvtime" config.py (285): Cfg file data: "version = 2.1" config.py (345): Loading cfg: /usr/bin/../share/freevo/freevo_config.py Loading cfg overrides: /etc/freevo/local_conf.py config.py (405): Logging to /var/log/freevo/main-0.log Error: DIR_MOVIES not set, set it to Home directory Error: DIR_AUDIO not set, set it to Home directory Error: DIR_IMAGES not set, set it to Home directory ROM_DRIVES: Auto-detected and added "('/mnt/cdrom', '/dev/cdroms/cdrom0', 'CD-1')" osd.py (419): SDL Driver: x11 skin.py (77): Imported skin main main.py (345): Skin: Loading XML file noia osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBI.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/Vera.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" osd.py (282): Loading font "/usr/bin/../share/freevo/fonts/VeraBd.ttf" freevo: could not connect to socket freevo: Connection refused WARNING: Could not initialize PyLirc!
