I have the same problem with the overdriven sound actually. I switched from OSS to ALSA last night, but now I have no sound. (I'm hoping I just haven't found the right channel yet.) Anyway, I've read that the one of the alsa channels supposedly will correct for the sound from a bt848 tv card. When (if) I find it I'll post the info for you. Seth
