I think you have to compile SDL with directfb and make sure Freevo uses
your compiled version of libSDL (not the one in the runtime).
I have recompiled SDL with direcfb support but now if I start freevo I see
this:
(*) parsing config file '/etc/directfbrc'.

And it hangs! I have tried many options in /etc/directfbrc and freevo.conf
