JJDogs, Yes, this would be a solution, but not the best one, and I'm a perfectionist ;-) The hardware has no problem with 44.1 and 48, so if I could just find a way of issuing the command automagically...
Resampling will make your experience to suffer, depending of the audio system obviously. I'm really sure that I should need to use iecset, normally I would think xine should set up the device properly. I had no luck at the Alsa mailing list though. Maybe I should try xine mailinglist as well(?)...
