I simply started from scratch and built the receiver and implemented the PS2 interface using an Atmel microcontroller. This allows keys on the remote to send strings, or ctl-alt-del for example. This also appears to work along side a USB keyboard I sometimes plug in ;-)

I was going one level weirder -- usb to kb/mouse adapter, ripped out of it's molded casing and soldered directly to the board from the keyboard receiver, plugged into a motherboard usb header, and the ir sensor out on the front of the case. Which was neat for the week or two that it functioned. I haven't re-investigated yet. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
