An obvious method to this is observing the PDC signal available in
serveral European countries, and use this to time recordings, however
there's a few catches with using that and the "N minutes past"
sollution, namely how to handle adjacent recording on other channels..
Personally I'd prefer a sollution which waited for pdc timing, then
delayed all other recordings if necessary.. 

btw. I'm from denmark, and I agree, TV3 is a pain... and has so many
commercials I barely want to view anything non-recorded.. A good tip is
to add a program with manual record instead of tv-guide.. then you can
add proper past recording.
