Have you created a link for linux-2.6.9-1.6_FC2.stk16 called linux?
(/usr/src/linux points to usr/src/linux-2.6.9-1.6_FC2.stk16)

I seem to remember having issues compiling until I did that. If that doesn't
help, hopefully someone else will have an answer.
