Thanks for the info -- I'll try to see if I can get it to work.
Another question, perhaps so much freevo but DVB backend related:  are DVB 
subtitles or teletext subtitles in dvb stream supported?   Any examples of 
VCR_CMD doing it?  While googling for it, I found some mplayer patches for 
1.0pre4 -- I wonder if those have been integrated to mplayer?
