If the mplayer command, > without the poll, is working correctly then it should be working. MPLAYER_VO_DEV = 'xv' gives me a good result , not centred, only trouble is needing to alter the a-v sync. can this (av -200ms) go into one of the mplayer args?
MPLAYER_VO_DEV = CONF.display gives me more than the cpu can cope with with Xorg taking 60% of the cpu audio way ahead of picture, and when the picture gets to the point where the sound started the sound dies and picture breaks up into square tiles > > I suspect that the channel is not being tuned, you can test this by > telling freevo to watch a tv channel and tuning the channel manually from > either a separate xterm or remotely. channel tuning is occurring ok > > Comment out your ivtv options and tv frequencies from the local_conf.py as > if these are incorrect it could mess up the setting in ivtv driver. have done so, thanks for the hint > > You can also run mplayer while freevo is running with the xv driver as it > overlays freevo with the tv picture. > > Duncan > and my recording problem went away when i rebooted the machine - i hadn't restarted the recordserver after altering the VIDEO_GROUPS. reading the logs did help me there. > > -- > > Ginsberg's Theorem: > > (1) You can't win. > > (2) You can't break even. > > (3) You can't even quit the game. > > > > Freeman's Commentary on Ginsberg's theorem: > > Every major philosophy that attempts to make life seem > > meaningful is based on the negation of one part of Ginsberg's > > Theorem.
