I eventually got this working the way I wanted but it seems like an
awkward hacky solution and i'm sure there's a better way. This is the
excerpt from my folder.fxd

<skin include="blurr">
  <menuset label="text with info style">
    <screen layout="video screen" visible="yes"/>
    <view visible="no"/>
    <listing x="30" y="90" width="710" height="510 - buttonbar_height">
      <image filename="up.png" label="uparrow" x="750" y="100"/>
      <image filename="down.png" label="downarrow" x="750" y="max-32"/>
    </listing>
    <info visible="no"/>
  </menuset>
  <layout label="video screen">
    <background>
      <image="background" x="0" y="0" label="background"/>
      <rectangle size="0" bgcolor="0x80000000" radius="10" x="10" y="90"
width="1" height="1"/>
    </background>
  </layout>
</skin>

Does anyone know of an easier way to accomplish this? i arrived at this
by trying for hours and hours various different configurations and this
is the only one i could get to work. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks, Paddy
