Of course you should know what's on the media :)

My use case was the following:

I wanted a simple to use system - as simple as it gets. My setup ensures
that a friend of mine can come home and plug in a usb key with say, a
movie on it, and we can view it easily.

So, he plugs it in and it shows up under 'external storage', and if he
removes it, it disappears. Of course, I made sure the drive was mounted
read-only, to insure nothing has to be synced. After all, freevo is for
*viewing* the media, they don't even know linux is there behind the
scenes doing all the hard work :P
