Subject: [Freevo-users] Not able to play movie w/ AC3 (DD5.1)
Dear Freevo users,
I upgraded from 1.7 to Freevo 1.8.3 last week. I used to be able to play avi's
with AC3 (= Dolby Digital 5.1 surround) sound. I use the mplayer option '-afm
hwac3' to redirect the digital audiostreem directly to the s/pdif (= digital
audio IN) of my Dolby Digital Amplifier/receiver. But now avi's w/ AC3 sound do
not start and Freevo does not show any error messages on the command line. If I
leave out he option '-afm hwac3' in /etc/freevo/local_conf.py then the avi does
play back, be it without DD5.1 sound (i.e. simply downmixed stereo).
These very same avi's do, however, play just fine w/ DD5.1 surround sound if I
start them outside of Freevo in mplayer w/ the same commandline options. What
can I do?
