I don't think that either the webserver nor the recordserver access the LCDd at all. I would guess that this comes from the LCDd that when there are no clients it does not know what to do and leaves the last message on the screen. BTW on mine I get a "0 clients message" One solution could be to wrap starting of freevo in a script and tell the LCD to display something like to clock or blank the screen.
