I don't know if it's documented anywhere. I had tried and abandoned using the TVTime plugin years ago because I didn't liked the mismatched channel numbers on the OSD. When I ran into problems watching live TV with the mplayer plugin a couple of months ago, I went back to using TVTime and, after digging through the mail archives more extensively for a solution to the numbering issue, I found out about this variable.
