lame = /usr/bin/lame is missing; you can run freevo setup again. oggenc = /usr/bin/oggenc is recommended too. IIRC display = x11 should be display = xv Look at the log file, it should be in the /var/log/freevo directory or in ~/.freevo/log. It may tell you more why flac encodings fail.
