This is probably the best compromise for all parties.
But that reminds me of our (in my eyes) quite obscure configuration
layout, which might need some rework.

Nice of you making that clear to me. :)

The advantage of having an abstract configuration option for that is
that we could apply it to alternative dhcpd's too (preventing conflicts
of course). If the implementation proves itself, we can think of
applying it to other daemons, too.
