Now I wonder, with there being so many Gentoo fanboys, if
these could gather how Gentoo forces their user-defined
CFLAGS onto, for example, the Linux kernel, to save us
work to find out how to do it without breaking things.
Umm… that is, if the Gentoo way doesn't break anything.
But if you see a message like

you know that the package's upstream sources are broken.
