Hi everybody,

i am having problems installing freewrt on my asus wl500gPremium.

First of all: the WIB is cool :) just selecting and it works, but as i got to
the more complicated configuring etc, i chose to take the ADK.
the so-called tarball
(http://www.freewrt.org/downloads/source/freewrt-1.0.2.tar.gz) works fine.
compilation, installation work all right.

then i changed to svn due to better support (wbx was so kind to add ssl support
to fetchmail). building is also here ok, the only thing is: when i
flash the image, it does not do anything:
tshark -i eth0 on my pc (the only machine on the net besides the router and the
modem which acts as pppoe modem without ip) brings up
packages like this one:

  0.715704 AsustekC_e9:8e:4a -> Broadcast    ARP Who has 192.168.1.1?
Gratuitous ARP

0000  ff ff ff ff ff ff 00 18 f3 e9 8e 4a 08 06 00 01   ...........J....
0010  08 00 06 04 00 01 00 18 f3 e9 8e 4a c0 a8 01 01   ...........J....
0020  00 00 00 00 00 00 c0 a8 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00   ................
0030  00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00               ............

every attempt of my pc to get the mac address of the router by asking
  6.315014 4c:00:10:51:45:b9 -> Broadcast    ARP Who has 192.168.1.1?  Tell
192.168.1.11
fails. there is no reply at all.

Even trying the default config (rm .config && make menuconfig && make v) does
not work, same thing...

anybody a clue, what the reason could be?

thanks in advance,
Clemens
