I don't know. Try it out and send patches for our documentation. Netgear has an ugly way of updating. Kernel and rootfs will be installed separetely. Furthermore there is a config partition in the original firmware, which contains all configuration meta data needed for using linux router project. (config.lrp) If you ever delete this partition, recovery is not simple. The nvram partition on netgear is just for the CFE bootloader and should never be touched.
