Good news: The box now seems to work, and I like it! :-)

Here are my remaining problems:

 a) Even though I selected all iptables additional features, I am
lacking the ipt_CLASSIFY, which should be a packaging problem
only, I believe, because the modules are compiled by default.

 b) I am fighting FreeWRT to stop putting init.d scripts back in place
that I have removed for a purpose, and to get it to start some
additional things. There seems to be a non-standard way of
handling this that I haven't yet understood and I did not find the
    documentation for it.

Problem (a) prevents me from setting up the traffic shaping correctly,
problem (b) makes it hard to put the box into "production" use in
FSFE's new Zürich office.

If it were possible to package ipt_CLASSIFY (it should get compiled by
default) and if someone could tell me which bit I am missing about the
init.d handling of FreeWRT, that would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Georg
