VLAN trunking is possible.

What exactly you mean with directed to the firewall?

If you want to mark a physical port as tagged, you need to add a "t"
to the port number.

auto eth0.1
iface eth0.1 inet static
        address 10.0.0.2
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        switch-ports 1t 5

VLAN trunking is a little bit untested, (the driver will work, but
the pre-up script might need some finetuning) use ifup -v and
take a look at /etc/network/if-pre-up/vlan.

Be familiar with failsafe mode, before you start ;)

good luck
        Waldemar
