Dave Thomas will accompany Dave West. Dave Thomas is a former professor at Carleton College in Canada, founder of OTI, and a leader in object and real-time software technologies. It was OTI's engine that became the core of VisualAge Smalltalk (and Java) and also the original code for the Eclipse IDE. OTI also had a lot of embedded systems technology that went to IBM when the company was purchased. OTI was solely owned by Dave so he had no obligation to do so - but when he sold the company he gave 50% of the proceeds to his employees. ============================================================ FRIAM Applied Complexity Group listserv Meets Fridays 9a-11:30 at cafe at St. John's College lectures, archives, unsubscribe, maps at http://www.friam.org
