Sure... Well actually only if you put it in context.  It's a hidden in sight
thing, that it's not the power but the control that makes technologies
useful.  The economic system is a fabulously powerful way to transform
things, but has the problem that it's entropy pumps can't be turned off,
have to multiply forever to remain stable, for example.  That makes the
whole thing kind of useless from a long term habitation perspective...
