Why, because it offers you twice-indirected stories? I think that is less an argument why it is 'worth the effort', and more an argument for why it allows you not to put in the effort. You could just as easily browse Reddit and have seen the screencapped comment <https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/2se526/what_is_the_most_quintessentially_english_thing/cnonev0?context=9>, or you could have even just read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, because although this happened to Adams, he also had his character Arthur Dent tell it as his own story to his then-girlfriend Fenchurch. -Arlo James Barnes
