I did not ask about looking at _my_ code, I was just asking of an example how caching might work. I found the sandbox thing much more that I had expected. Franz has also provided some code snippets and I will try to experiment with all of that. Anyhow, some ++ and -- lines have been added, but nothing as a sort of mathematical background on symmetric functions etc. That easily would grow into a several volume book. I have also added quite a few such lines to prtition.spad.nw but alas there is no (al)prose nor any poetry, just slang. BTW: YES indeed I want to compute over infinitely many parameters. There is a class of symmetric functions, called double Schur functions which cover many(!) special cases and are parametrized by Integral many parameters a[i], i in Integers. Cool.
