According to my counting \axiomSig and \spadsig are only used about 15
times. We should get rid of this command.

It had probably been introduced to deal with A->B as a type, and print a
$\rightarrow$ instead of -> in \tt mode. As there are so few uses and
it's cumbersome to deal with A->B->C, I'd rather remove complexity and
simply let people type \spadtype{A->B}.

I don't yet know how, but It would be nicer to write

  \spadtype{((A(B),C(D,E))->F G}

and have \spadtype deal with the task of turning A, B, ..., G into
hyperlinks to the corresponding constructor description.
