I am sorry but it has been a long time since I last tried using
TeXmacs with FriCAS. Several times over the last few years I have been
optimistic about using TeXmacs but each time I have had problems with
installation of TeXmacs, disappointment at the performance of TeXmacs
itself, and then later some infrequent but annoying problems with loss
of synchronization between TeXmacs and FriCAS.
I do not remember why either of these items were commented-out. In the
case of <mathd> perhaps I simply did not understand how this was
supposed to be used. If replacing "quad" with "spc" works in
formatNary that is probably OK. None of this has had much testing so
you may just be finding things that were never fully resolved. I am
glad that you have taken a serious interest in using FriCAS in
TeXmacs. Maybe this can eventually become a preferred interface for
FriCAS. If you have a branch with updates to the interface I think I
can find some time to try using it again.
