Multicultural church is a hot button for me. John 3:16 says "God so loved the WORLD..." The great commission in St. Matthew says "Go and make disciples of ALL NATIONS".
I think that a great challenge for the church today is multicultural ministry. What I am trying to do is establish my own congregation in the local community by establishing a multicultural center within our buildings. My premise is that as Christians we should actively teach our congregations to love all people... including Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Budhists, etc... Of course, being a Christian we do not love these religions, but I think that a great challenge is for us to love the people of these different cultures and world religions. What a great witness to the Christian faith it would be if the local church were seen as a welcoming place for every people and culture.
