I'm forwarding two messages from Sue below to the friends list, since
I think they are definately of interest to the rest of the group. In
fact, we may find that the 'specials' catalogs for MPW are of dubious
value, since I seem to remember a disclaimer in there about changes to
prices without notice due to supplier fluctuation...

Also, to send more private email to me about the buying club, please
use [EMAIL PROTECTED], which goes to the co-op mailing list, where
PayPal data and other buying club business goes. Incidentally, any
active member is welcome to join that list, (to see financial details
of the buying club, and share administrative work). Thanks -jeb

Subject: Reconciling previous order

Jeb --
I'm going off list with this, as I don't want to cry fire in a crowded
theater, but...
...Either I'm breaking with reality, or that invoice is! As I line up
the items marked "sue" with my order, none are matching -- I can guess
which might be which by their relative prices, but each is significantly
higher than the sale price in our catalog.

Did I miss something? If I'm ordering something *sale* priced at
$10.53, I anticipate paying $10.53 -- not $11.50-something. I know my
regular catalog is older, and could certainly understand a difference
there -- but if MPW promotes a sale price, I have a real problem with
being charged a different price altogether.

Can you shed some light on this?

Thanks --
Sue

I can't shed any light myself. Could you call MPW about it? -jeb

...okay -- I can see a simple problem with two of the items.

They simply ignored the fact that the apple juice and tea were on sale.
(Accounts for the 34.38 and 11.53 amounts. Still wrong -- but
explainable.) ($1.34 x 2, and $1.20 errors in their favor.)

The hotdogs, which should have been sale-priced at $9.29 came through at
$10.93 -- 71 cents higher than the *regular* price was supposed to be,
and $1.64 (per -- I ordered two) higher than the listed sale price.
(Error of $3.28 in their favor.) Can't "explain" that one!

The oats...? Seem to have come through $1.27 less than expected -- my
price may have been outdated. (If not, I owe them!)

The Amy's pockets may be another outdated price -- came in at $15.47,
against an anticipated $14.53. That should be relatively easy to check
against a more current catalog. They're in the Frozen section.

So...on the first three items, my "reconciliation" suggests that they,
in fact, owe us $7.16! And that I have a .33 co-op credit based on the
last two items.

I have absolutely *no* problem making sure that Leigh comes out okay
with all this. But I do think we need to make sure that MPW clears up
its errors as well.

Off to make supper -- will check back later.

Sue
