Mauritius Telecom has a monopoly on local loops into the country. No other carrier will be competitive.
The Last Mile access will cost more than the long haul and hence will be too risky for anyone besides the PTT. A l'heure actuelle seul Mauritius Telecom nous a fait une proposition. Parmi les opérateurs qui nous ont envoyé sur les roses : NTT, Verizon, British Telecom. Ce n'est pas totalement ridicule de passer par des opérateurs européens car il semblerait que les chemins privilégiés entre l'océan indien et les US passent par l'Europe plutôt que le Pacifique. On va tenter notre chances avec Orange et Level3, auriez-vous d'autres opérateurs à recommander, voire des contacts ?
