As most of the developers know, I stopped all of my package maintaining
till the current system would be changed. The current system would cause
chaos if a user has problem with package: who built the package, who is
the maintainer and so on.
I've been thinking a lot about this problem and maybe found a solution.
There won't be package maintainers. The packages will belong to groups,
like:
- base,
- network,
- x11,
- gtk,
- qt,
- locale,
and so on. Not only from the frugalware, but from the extra repo, too.
The current maintainers will be members of groups (for example the gnome
m8r will be a member of the gtk group). One maintainer can belong to
other groups. In the groups the maintainers can give out the packages,
but everyone can upload the patch to darcs. Only the group members can
upload patches and packages to the group.
This is the base of my version.
Please think about it and discuss...
Regards,
IroNiQ
