Since we discussed having a contest for the homepage design, and
everyone seemed OK with the idea, should I announce it in the
newsletter (which is due out today :)) ?

sure, no need to wait with it

If yes, we need to set some rules and a finishing date.

yes, for example i simply can't imagine how one can supply a design if
it is not css-only, provided that they won't want to set up the full
engine ;)

Well since I'm writing a new homepage engine with a template engine, it'll be easy to fit a new design onto it.

Anyway, how about 1st June as a finishing date, after which we open up voting and users and developers can vote on which design they like. Also these rules would be good
 - No proprietary content such as Flash animations
 - The design must use CSS for layout and not tables
 - The design must use the official Frugalware logo
 - The design must be compatible with all browsers
 - Both the HTML and the CSS should pass W3C validation

Is that OK?

Thanks,
Alex
