VMiklos - thanks for the 2.6.27 merge :( I guess I have to announce that
too.
Thanks for the work, but it's simply not working as expected. If I plug in my mobile via USB, its memory card can't be used any more as mass storage. If I downgrade to 2.6.26, it works like a charm. Here is what I get into /var/log/messages in 2.6.27:

Oct 21 07:26:36 jabitha kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
Oct 21 07:26:37 jabitha kernel: usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

Oct 21 07:26:42 jabitha kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off
Oct 21 07:26:42 jabitha kernel: sdb: sdb1

Oct 21 07:26:42 jabitha kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x0 ASCQ=0x0

The last two lines repeat until I unplug it again (exactly 143 times per second):

Oct 21 07:27:15 jabitha kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x0 [current]
Oct 21 07:27:15 jabitha kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x0 ASCQ=0x0
Oct 21 07:27:15 jabitha kernel: usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 6
Oct 21 07:27:15 jabitha kernel: scsi 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x01 driverbyte=0x00

Any ideas?
Check that it's not dbus hal that is running crazy, else it might be a kernel bug.
