I gave your wip repo a shot yesterday and I'm amazed. Basically most of
the kde3 functionality I use on a daily basis works fine. One issue I
found:

I guess you just need to rebuild something because of the libxklavier
upgrade. I have libxklavier installed, but that provides only
libxklavier.so.15, while kde4 was built against libxklavier.so.12.

The short answer is definitely: yes.

Ah and a question: is it possible to disable the transparency of the
taskbar somehow? I mean by default it's gray and I like it that way, but
when I enable desktop effects, it becomes something like light blue, I
guess it's because the wallpaper is blue and the taskbar is transparent.
