[snip] My laptop is up and running again now. I downloaded the ISO image for the Net install but when I tried to boot to it, all I got was a GRUB boot prompt. I have had this problem before in testing Net installs and I still don't know what's going wrong there. Anyway, on this laptop I have Windows 7, Frugalware 1.3, Frugalware 1.4 'current' (which was the problem) and SalixOS 13.?? I booted to Frugalware 1.3, mounted the root partition of the 1.4 'current' installation, and reinstalled the "sysvinit" package and the 1.4 'current' installation then booted OK. I then removed and re-installed packages as needed and things appear to be back to normal. Many apologies to you, VMiklos and I promise I'll be more careful in future. May you always be Frugal, Russell Dickenson (AKA phayz) _______________________________________________ Frugalware-devel mailing list [email protected] http://frugalware.org/mailman/listinfo/frugalware-devel
