Hi

Like you, I don't think it's a good idea to remove the french community. Like Daniel says, we have some features like the planet, forum and main website.

Knowing about phpbb, i can say it will be a headache to migrate all data from the french board.

In the other way, about the fact that Frugalware as its official website (fw.org) and community-sites for various countries is an advantage.

Some people are not necessary good in english. They could be "frigthened" to see a forum mainly in english.

I'm against your proposition, Clément.

We'll wait for comments of others members of the team...

Regards

To begin, all apologies for my english, I'm a french guy.
I think nothing know me because I don't speak with english users of
Frugalware.
I send a mail in the mailing list because I have a idea.
Actually, Frugalware.org is translate in french, but there is another
site for the French. (Frugalware.fr)
I just wondered why not combine the two sites into one.
Thus there will be less effort to provide for now two French sites about
Frugalware.

What do you think about my idea?

Hi Clément,

And what do you exactly mean on "combining"? :)

He means fusionning.

The french community website has 3 major parts:
1) News with pluxml
2) Own Forums
3) Own Planet

1) There are the same news as in http://www.frugalware.org/fr
So it's OK for that.

2) That's a problem, I don't think we can import threads. Also, McKey
wants several forums. We can make a french section with some forums
but
I don't know this fair against others non-english languages. In the
other hand if the french community is active...

3) Bilboplanet has no multilinguage feature, so I'll have to create
another installation of bilboplanet on genesis if we want to add a
planet for french blogs.

Opinions ?
